Well, everyone. Tonight is the night that the new season of Project Runway starts. And I will not be on it. (Again...) I know it has been a awfully long time since I have posted a single thing of my own site, and I hope that at least one or two of you may have thought for a split second that it was because I got on the show and was being sequestered!
But, alas, it was once again time to be unfairly jilted, but I am handling it much better this time than last. Whereas this season, my submission was arguably better and more eye-catching than last (I had a box specially designed and created, a rainbow colored multi-level folder, INDIVIDUAL 8x10 glossies of all views of my garments, 5 pictures of myself, and I even threw in a candy bar with a note that the person who gets to go through all the submissions needs a candy break, for goodness sake!) ahem... this year I am not finding myself running into the barren desert screaming and crying, throwing ironing boards out the window, or destroying bookcases from WalMart with a hammer. I'm bitter, but I'm too busy to be THAT bitter.
Which brings me to my main point.
Although I have not been posting a lot, I have been keeping busy. For my ProJRun portfolio, I knew I had to hire live models. I love my mannequins, but they aren't very flexible. So I joined a site called Model Mayhem, which was probably one of the best things I have done in recent history. I intended on using it only once to find models for my shoot, get on the show, and then be done with it. Well, we all know how the show thing turned out, but through this website, I have found many models and photographers that all want to work together to help build our portfolios. And I have officially even been labeled a Model Snob. I always was, it's just now people are recognizing it.
So, while last year, I didn't post anything because I didn't sew for three months, this year, I haven't been posting anything because I have been busy making garments for photo shoots and working with real models!
(Well, I was also afraid my mannequins would get very angry with me for letting others know I was making clothes for other people...)
(They're still mad at me...)
(They stare...)
So for the next upcoming days, I will be posting pictures of the work I have been doing since temporarily running away from blogging, designing a new layout, and gaining the strength to begin watching the new season of Project Runway while remaining almost sober. It may take some time, but it will be done.
Love you all!
ALL
You know who I'm talking about.
